Cedar Creek Lake Fishing Report for February 7, 2018

Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the www.Kingscreekadventures.com fishing and lake report for Cedar creek lake. The lake is 1.78' low and the water temps are right around the 50 degree mark give or take a few degrees. The clarity ranges from slightly stained to very stained heading north.

Catfish are good on fresh shad fished on bottom throughout the lake, you can find fish in all depths right now you just have to experiment. There is still a decent deep drifting bite but fish are scattering and being caught from shallow to deep.

Hybrid and sandies are on the move, there are some fish still hanging deep feeding on shad in 30 to 50' but I have caught hybrids in 3' water in the creek areas recently which means that the first wave is on the move.

Crappie are also showing up on deeper brushpiles and docks as well as bridges, most fish are still 14 to 24' but a few are being caught as shallow as 6' on docks with lots of shade and Brush.

The Largemouth are still coming around the boat docks and near points along the rocks and retaining wall areas near the mouth of and into the spawning coves. Chatterbaits, spinner baits and shallow crankbaits are good choices for locating fish and jigs or plastics are good for slowing down and picking everything apart. You may still find some good fish on deeper brush piles, points and humps if you like deep water. Try football jigs, Carolina rigs and deep cranks slow and thoroughly.

Thanks for reading my report and give me a call to book your next trip.
