Boater Safety Classes On Cedar Creek Lake

With 2020 in the rear view mirror, we are on the brink of a new lake season. Last season was a banner year for boat sales, driven by COVID-19 travel restrictions. People across the country turned to their local lakes for recreation, which means that we can expect another busy year on Texas lakes.

With so many new boaters on the water, it's more important than ever to make sure you know boating safety inside and out. It's not just a suggestion, either. For anyone born on September 1, 1993 or after, it's the law. This is why Texas Parks and Wildlife administers Boating Safety classes, taught by various organizations and independent teachers.

The About Boating Safely Course is an 7-hour course designed for new boaters, young boaters, hunters, fishermen, personal watercraft operators, and anyone who wants to learn more about recreational boating. Classes are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on specific Saturdays in Tool, Texas.

Expect to learn about:

  • Trailering your boat or personal watercraft
  • Rules of Navigation - who has the right of way?
  • Inland lakes boat operation, navigation, and piloting
  • Required Equipment - what you should carry on the water
  • Personal watercraft
  • Common Sense Boating

Boating Safety Courses on Cedar Creek Lake courses will held at the USCG Auxiliary Headquarters Building at 1908 Island Circle in Tool, Texas.
