Elder CDJR of Cedar Creek Lake will open a new car dealership to be known as Elder Dodge in Gun Barrel City on SH 198 across from Sonic in May of 2018.
The company that operates a dealership in Athens selling Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles recently reached an agreement with the Economic Development Corp. of the city giving the new dealership $500,000 in financial incentives.
It will be the first new car dealership in Gun Barrel City. Mabank has two new car dealerships selling Fords and General Motors products.
City officials touted the new dealership as a producer of new jobs and sales tax revenue.
