The Eustace City Council recently decided to schedule the annual Pioneer Day celebration in the fall.
It will be Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017. The city previously celebrated the event in June every year.
Council members said the fall event should lessen the strain on animals and spectators because of cooler temperatures.
The event includes a parade, games, vendors and food.
It is a celebration of the town's farming and ranching heritage that takes place in the town square, which features a restored pioneer cabin.
