Cedar Creek Lake Fishing Report for April 22, 2017

Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the www.kingscreekadventures.com fishing and lake report for cedar creek lake. I'm sorry for the recent inactivity with my lake reporting, i think I'm back on track... the lake is full and the water temp is low to Mid 70s. Water clarity is slightly stained muddy heading north.

The crappie are in all stages of the spawn, you have fish in shallow water bedding as well as fish staging on docks, bridges and brush. Jigs and minnows are good you just have to hunt.

Sandies and hybrids are shallow starting out early then moving out to the 10 to 20' ranges during the day... Humps and point are best areas, use shad, slabs, swimbaits and crankbaits are all good at times.

Catfish are shallow early on rocks, walls and windy points. Shad are spawning and readily available so that's my bait of choice...

The largemouth are like the crappie, they are in all stages so anything is possible. I would start with topwaters and crankbaits then move to jigs and plastics. Try coves points and offshore stuff.

Cedar Creek Lake

Fishing Report from TPWD (Sep. 24)

EXCELLENT. Water slightly stained; 77 degrees; 1.71 feet below pool. Consistently finding the best hybrid action in 13-18 feet of water with slabs, and spinnerbaits using the proven saw tooth retrieve technique. Trolling spoons with a hellbender set-up at 3 mph in 13-17 feet of water is absolutely crushing the white bass on several humps throughout the lake. As water temperatures decrease into the low 70s we will target big hybrids on shallow ledges and humps with Alabama rigs. Report by Brent Herbeck, Herbeck's Lonestar Fishing Guide Service. The catfish pattern will remain consistent until cooler weather arrives. Catfish are good anchoring on humps in 12-24 feet fishing small shad or cut shad on the bottom. Drifting larger cut bait like carp, drum or big gizzard shad on flats in 10-25 feet throughout the lake. Report by Jason Barber, Kings Creek Adventures.
