Cedar Creek Lake Fishing Report for August 30 , 2017

Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the www.kingscreekadventures.com fishing and lake report for Cedar creek lake. The lake is about half a foot low and the water temperature is around 80 degrees give or take a few. The clarity is decent ranging from slightly stained to stained heading north...

The crappie have been very consistent this year and can still be caught a number of ways, try brushpiles and bridges as well as a few of the deeper docks. Jigs and minnows will work equally as well depending on what you like...

Catfish are good on fresh shad fished on bottom near mainlake humps in 12 to 24' on the south end and are scattered on the upper end of the lake. Different methods will work throughout the lake from jugs to trot-lines...

Large mouth are best around docks, brushpiles and mainlake points, shaky heads, tx rigs and crankbaits are best. Throw in some top water early and late to get an extra bite or two on some days.

Hybrid and sandies are also on mainlake humps and points and can be caught on slabs, swimbaits and trolling deep divers as well as live bait. Use your graph to locate fish in the 12 to 30' ranges and try to get them going.

Thanks for reading my report and I hope it helps you get on the fish faster your next trip out. To book with me please call 903-603-2047

Cedar Creek Lake

Fishing Report from TPWD (Sep. 24)

EXCELLENT. Water slightly stained; 77 degrees; 1.71 feet below pool. Consistently finding the best hybrid action in 13-18 feet of water with slabs, and spinnerbaits using the proven saw tooth retrieve technique. Trolling spoons with a hellbender set-up at 3 mph in 13-17 feet of water is absolutely crushing the white bass on several humps throughout the lake. As water temperatures decrease into the low 70s we will target big hybrids on shallow ledges and humps with Alabama rigs. Report by Brent Herbeck, Herbeck's Lonestar Fishing Guide Service. The catfish pattern will remain consistent until cooler weather arrives. Catfish are good anchoring on humps in 12-24 feet fishing small shad or cut shad on the bottom. Drifting larger cut bait like carp, drum or big gizzard shad on flats in 10-25 feet throughout the lake. Report by Jason Barber, Kings Creek Adventures.
