Hi folks, JasonBarber here with the www.kingscreekadventures.com fishing and lake report for Cedar Creek Lake. The lake level is at 1' low and falling and the water temperature is in the high 70's to low 80's with the clarity being slightly stained to stained heading north.
The crappie are slowly turning on around bush in 12 to 24' of water as well as hanging out under the bridges in the same depths. Minnows and jigs are good bait choices. You will find more and more fish under the deepest docks as it starts to cool off.
Large mouth are still scattered throughout the lake and can be caught on a number of baits from top water baits to crank baits and plastics. You have to.pick a technique and run it and be ready to change up. Docks are good as well as humps and points with brush on them, Carolina rigs and deep cranks are good locater bait when fishing offshore in 10 to 20' of water.
Hybrids and sandbass are on mainlake points and humps as well and can be caught on top water baits when they surface and slabs and swim baits or trolling when they're related to the bottom. Trolling is another great way to find fish that are moving around the humps and points.
The catfish are scattered too, you can catch fish drifting in different depths, even floating around bait high in the water collum will get bit over deep water. If you want to anchor stay close to a drop off on humps.or points in 12 to 25'. Fresh shad or cut bait is good, shrimp will work too.
As always thanks for your interest and give me a call to discuss booking a fishing trip.
