The Cedar Creek Lake Chamber of Commerce named local media outlets as the "Business of the Month" at the October 2017 regular monthly meeting.

Recipients were Athens Daily Review, The Monitor, KCKL 95.9 FM Radio, Henderson County Texas Now and CedarCreekLake.com. 

Henderson County Judge Richard Sanders was the guest speaker at the meeting. He discussed his role as the administrative judge presiding over the Commissioners Court.

Chamber President Jo Ann Hanstrom gave E.H. "Bud" Henry a special award of appreciation for his years of service to the Cedar Creek Lake community. A retired U.S. Army Colonel, Henry recently moved north of Dallas. While living on the lake he served as Gun Barrel City Manager and East Cedar Creek Lake Fresh Water District General Manager and was active in the chamber with the leadership training program.
