Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation Events Coming Up

The Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation website states:

“The CCVF has been established to raise monies to assist with the physical and emotional recovery and rehabilitation of wounded, injured and disabled military personnel and veterans with a focus on those individuals residing in and organizations serving the Northeast Texas region. The CCVF's principal fundraising activity is the Thunder Over Cedar Creek Lake air show presented during the July 4th Holiday timeframe each year.”

CCVF has several events coming up that are well thought out and planned for the benefit of the Veterans in our local area and extending to East Texas.

*June 29 @6am “Hooked on Veterans White Bass Tournament” that will be held here at Cedar Creek Lake and stationed at the Pinnacle Club in Mabank.

*July 4 – 7 in Tyler at the Tyler Warbird Expo Weekend

*July 5th Pilots Party

*July 6th @ 6pm “Thunder Over Cedar Creek Lake Airshow”

*November 11 “Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation Golf Classic”

“The Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation’s board and members consist of volunteers passionate about helping others. The CCVF’s principal fund-raising activities are the annual golf classic, pilots party and Thunder over Cedar Creek Lake Airshow. All proceeds from CCVF events are donated to charities befitting veterans and their families. The CCVF is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Your donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law.”

Three organizations benefit from the Cedar Creek Veteran Foundation’s hard work, The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, Fisher House and Hope for the Warriors.

“The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society provides financial assistance and education programs to members of all the United States Military Services and their family.

The Fisher House provides military families housing and support close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injuries.
Hope for the Warriors provides comprehensive support programs for post-911 Veterans & their families.” All this information and more can be found on the CCVF flyer for events.

Cedar Creek Lake Fishing Report from TPWD (Sep. 23)

GOOD. Water lightly stained; 81 degrees; 0.06 low. Largemouth bass are good working topwater plugs and jerk baits very early on creek ledges and near boat docks. Shaky heads, black or purple plastic worms, and diving cranks fished in deeper water near boat docks, main lake drop-offs, and timber are productive later in the day. Hybrids and sand bass are being caught off main lake points and humps with slabs and live bait. Crappie are good with jigs and minnows in brush piles, deep water boat docks, and near submerged timber in 15-28’. Catfish are good in 12-25’.
