Because Life is Better at the Lake

Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation around Cedar Creek Lake

My name is Nicole Sprabary. I am a mom, first and foremost and raise my daughters in the Cedar Creek Lake community. I am a transplant from just Northwest of the Lake and look forward to spending the rest of my life here. I am a freelance writer and blogger, wanting to speak truth and greatness into our community in hopes of creating a ripple of good throughout our small lake towns.

All around Cedar Creek Lake, Vinyl signs showing the Cedar Creek Lake Veteran Foundation Annual Thunder over Cedar Creek Lake have been popping up at local businesses.

The time is drawing near for the 14th annual Pilot Party and Airshow that showcases many military planes that fly from the Tyler Pounds Airport to perform over the Lake just at the Pinnacle Club.

This event lasts several days and encompasses a distance between Tyler and Cedar Creek Lake each year showcasing the planes and then of course, their trip in the sky.

This year, Beacon Hill in Kemp is opening their lake side community up for the Huey Helicopter to land.

Each year, tickets are sold for rides, on several of the aircraft. This is a way to raise money for the Veterans of East Texas, from 50 miles away from the VA hospital in Dallas and beyond.

“Come July 4 - 7, 2019, Tyler Pounds Regional Airport, at Historic Aviation Memorial Museum (HAMM), Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation and HAMM will host Col. Joe McPhail, USMC/Ret. and seven vintage World War II aircraft, "The Magnificent 7 Warbird Expo." Tickets for the rare opportunity are available online at ccveteransfoundation.org. This event is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet and greet a true WW II Hero. Col. McPhail will have a display set to show his collection of WW II and Korea memorabilia. Bring the kids. Bring the grandkids. Bring yourself. Tickets allow all to experience the 7 Warbirds up and close and tour the HAMM Museum. This history is harder and harder to find with a hands-on exploration of WW II aircraft and to talk with a WW II and Korean Veteran Hero. You will not want to miss this amazing opportunity. Also, if you truly want to capture the experience, book a ride on one of the vintage aircrafts."

All details on how to schedule a ride can be found at ccveteransfoundation.org as well. SEE YOU THERE!” This information and more can be found on the Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation Facebook page and website.

“Beacon Hill would like to invite you to our Pre-Thunder Over Cedar Creek Lake Event!

"Join Us Saturday, July 6th between 10am - 1pm for a Pre-Thunder Over Cedar Creek Lake Airshow Event Hosted by Beacon Hill to benefit the Cedar Creek Veterans Foundation. Tickets are available for rides in the famous Huey Chopper for an amazing aerial view of Cedar Creek Lake. “A great event of family fun. This event allows air show supporters to meet and greet the performing pilots, get autographs, take pictures and see exciting videos of past air show performers. The 2019 TOCCL Pilots Party is being held at the Pinnacle Club at 6:30 pm.”

“A spectacular air show that will entertain and amaze you with aerial acrobatics and an up close and personal experience with the power of fighter jets, both civilian and military. The entire air show performance takes place over Cedar Creek Lake.”
