by

My name is Nicole Sprabary. I am a mom, first and foremost and raise my daughters in the Cedar Creek Lake community. I am a transplant from just Northwest of the Lake and look forward to spending the rest of my life here. I am a freelance writer and blogger, wanting to speak truth and greatness into our community in hopes of creating a ripple of good throughout our small lake towns.

The Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is planning their yearly Awards Banquet. This year it will be held at the Cedar Creek Lake Country Club located in Kemp, Texas. Many awards will be given out this evening including but not limited to, 2017 Citizen of the Year, Jean Nichols Lifetime Service Award, President’s Hall of Fame Award and the Ambassador of the Year.

JoAnn Hanstrom, President of the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, sent out a press release covering the event and according to Hanstrom, this year’s theme will be, “CCLACC – Anchoring the business community since 2001.” “Underscoring the role that active chambers of commerce play in a community. Through their program of work, The Cedar Creek Lake Area Chamber of Commerce fills a large support and communication role for civic organizations, schools, various non-profits and citizens, as well as always being focused on commerce and how to build and sustain the business community.”

Hanstrom invites the public, “to submit nominations for deserving individuals or couples. For those wishing to submit a nomination, you may obtain a form by calling the chamber office at 903.887.3152 or by emailing info@CedarCreekLakeChamber.com. You may also pick up a form at 604 S. Third St. Ste. E Mabank.” Nominations for 2017 Citizen of the Year and the Jean Nichols Lifetime Service Award are not exclusive to chamber members.
Submissions must be received by the chamber by March 2 and criteria can be found on the submission form.

Banquet tickets are $35 and RSVP is recommended to help ensure the country club knows how many people to prepare for. Doors will be open at 6pm and dinner promptly at 630.
