West Cedar Creek Municipal Utility District to start signing up Kemp customers

Cedar Creek Lake Area residents who are supplied water by the City of Kemp will soon begin receiving letters to visit West Cedar Creek Lake Municipal Utility District's office to sign service agreements.

The utility district recently completed all paperwork required by the Public Utility Commission to service the residences now receiving water and sewer service from Kemp.

The letters will be staggered to prevent long lines at the office, which will be open some weekends and extended hours during the week to accommodate the new customers.

The registration of new customers marks the successful completion of the hookup of Kemp to the utility district that city officials first began exploring in 2011 during the extreme drought when the city made the national news for running out of water.

Cedar Creek Lake

Fishing Report from TPWD (Sep. 24)

EXCELLENT. Water slightly stained; 77 degrees; 1.71 feet below pool. Consistently finding the best hybrid action in 13-18 feet of water with slabs, and spinnerbaits using the proven saw tooth retrieve technique. Trolling spoons with a hellbender set-up at 3 mph in 13-17 feet of water is absolutely crushing the white bass on several humps throughout the lake. As water temperatures decrease into the low 70s we will target big hybrids on shallow ledges and humps with Alabama rigs. Report by Brent Herbeck, Herbeck's Lonestar Fishing Guide Service. The catfish pattern will remain consistent until cooler weather arrives. Catfish are good anchoring on humps in 12-24 feet fishing small shad or cut shad on the bottom. Drifting larger cut bait like carp, drum or big gizzard shad on flats in 10-25 feet throughout the lake. Report by Jason Barber, Kings Creek Adventures.
