World's largest Nautique dealer expands to Cedar Creek Lake's Long Cove Marina

Buxton Marine, the largest Nautique boat dealership in the world and only dealer in North Texas, has opened a second store at the Long Cove Marina on Cedar Creek Lake.

The shop, Buxton Marine at Long Cove, caters to the public as well as the neighboring luxury lake home community of Long Covewith a pro shop, service shop and ship store.

Don McNamara, the founder and developer of Long Cove, met Buxton Marine owner, Phil Smith, several years ago. Over time the two fostered a friendship and found a way to join forces to fill a need on Cedar Creek Lake with a business that keeps the customers and brand at the forefront.

McNamara said, “Long Cove is known for its white-glove, turn-key service, and already offers a boat valet as well as a Boat Club that offers our residents shared access to a number of different boats. Buxton Marine will take that one step further by helping customers take the pain out of boat ownership and expand our current offerings at the Long Cove Marina. We think our residents and the greater lake community will benefit from our partnership.”

Nautique boat owners at Cedar Creek Lake as well as Long Cove residents now have access to on-demand mobile service for all boating needs and maintenance plans that notify them of scheduled tune-ups. The maintenance plans also allow customers year-round boating with a special option for winterizing and de-winterizing boats. The new pro shop will offer access to a wide variety of brand name surfer, ski and wake board accessories, and the ship store will serve as a small convenience shop with on-the-go snacks and beverages.

Smith said, "There is nothing else in the region that compares to Long Cove and its one-of-a-kind community. We're looking forward to servicing the existing Nautique boat owners at Cedar Creek Lake as well as introducing new customers to this world-class brand."

In addition to the store opening, Long Cove residents and the public will continue to have access to the Long Cove Marina and the fuel dock. The marina is located adjacent to the Highway 189 bridge, just south of Caney City, and includes dry stack storage for 72 boats. It is the first marina on Cedar Creek Lake with dry stack boat storage. Boats are taken in and out of the water on forklifts and stored in a 3-story steel building.

Buxton Marine at Long Cove will be open to the public starting Friday, September 2 at 8 a.m. Hours will be extended through the weekend with specials on merchandise as well as free Nautique boat rides and demos. Cedar Creek Lake

Fishing Report from TPWD (May 7)

EXCELLENT. stained; 73 degrees; 0.38 feet below pool. Hybrid striped bass and white bass have made a full recovery from the spawn and are now back in the main lake in droves and are on a feeding frenzy! Look for bird activity throughout the lake on flats and near the dam on edges of drop-offs especially on cloudy and overcast days. Target drop-offs along seawalls early in the mornings in 5-14 feet with slabs. Reports of great catches using silver or white slabs and spinners and retrieving off the bottom at a very slow retrieve to catch these fish in depths of 17-26 feet of water. The crappie have also migrated back into the main lake. Look for them under bridge pylons or under docks where the depths are between 3-10 feet. Guides have been reporting exceptionally nice catches on sunny warmer days. Report by Brent Herbeck, Herbeck’s Lonestar Fishing Guide Service. Catfish are best early morning along shallow shoreline walls and rocks targeting shad spawn. Later in the day drift various depths from 10-20 feet of water with cut shad and rough fish. Report by Jason Barber, Kings Creek Adventures.
