The Wilds of Cedar Creek :Go fish! or Gold fish!

The Wilds of Cedar Creek :Go fish! or Gold fish!

Have you seen the wilds of Cedar Creek Lake? You never really know what you may encounter! Located on the west side of the lake in Tangle wood beach addition, there lies a Giant Gold fish named Goldie. She has returned to the same spot for over 7 years now including after we had the terrible drought a few years back. She returns on the same month and has returned on the same day twice. She first appeared when I was feeling down about my life. You know the old Chinese story about Gold fish don't

What are Your Treasures?
Friends describe me as a Cinderella with a gypsy flair. I describe myself as a Cinderella with a Scarecrow brain! Like the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz, searching for a brain. At age 19, a bizarre car accident exposed me to carbon monoxide poisoning. I died that day, witnessed heaven and l spoke to my grandfather, while witnessing other family members and conversed with Jesus. The CO poisoning had the effect of a tornado, blowing my brain clean and leaving debris for me to piece together. While little was left of my recollections and operation of the simplest of things were difficult. In 1972, I was informed by my doctors that I made medical history. I grew up on a farm in the 50s in Bowie Texas. I began writing five years ago, about this event, when I was challenged in a bible study class to write it down. Even though my writing abilities were almost none existent, the use of the computer enabled me to put my story on paper. The result of writing my life story down enabled me to realize my treasures in life were not only what I kept, but the Heavenly treasures were what I was willing to give away! I want to encourage you to find your own story of Grace and to pass it forward to help others in their own life's struggles. My desire for you is that you become a treasure in someone's life. You may never know how the actions that you take will make colorful seeds in someone s life. I feel that the publication of my book in passing forward my experiences is my true occupation and purpose in life. You can find my book locally at" Dirt Road Diva's" in Mabank Texas and at "Sylvesters' Salon" in Gun Barrel City Texas. I am a resident of Cedar Creek Lake area since 1990. I have been published in several magazine articles and in the book 88+Ways Music Can Change Your Life. Inspirational music stories, quotes, and anecdotes from all around the world by Vincent James & Joann Pierdomenico. I also own an on line, unique home furnishings and wedding

Cedar Creek Lake

Fishing Report from TPWD (Apr. 23)

EXCELLENT. stained; 69 degrees; 0.12 feet below pool. Fishing patterns remain consistent. Look for heavy bird activity throughout the lake on flats and near the dam on edges of drop-offs especially on cloudy and overcast days. Reports of great catches using silver or white slabs and spinnerbaits with a very slow retrieve off the bottom in 17-26 feet of water. The crappie have also migrated back into the main lake. Look for them under bridge pylons or under docks where the depths are between 3-10 feet. Guides have been reporting exceptionally nice catches on sunny warmer days. Report by Brent Herbeck, Herbeck’s Lonestar Fishing Guide Service. The shad spawn is in full swing, so the early shallow wall bite is on fire all over the lake. Fresh caught shad tossed up to the walls on bottom or under a float are a sure way to catch good numbers of nice eating sized catfish. There is still a deeper drifting bite in 12-24 feet of water using cut shad, drum or carp drifted along the bottom. Many fish being caught in the 10-50 pound range. Report by Jason Barber, Kings Creek Adventures.
